SWAMI17 Slough Street Showcase
Success for the SWAMI17 Community Showcase Event in Slough
The rain failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the community groups that took part in the SWAMI17 Community Showcase in the Town Square in Slough on Saturday.
This was the second of three showcases organised by SWAMI in Windsor, Slough and Maidenhead, and funded by the Near Neighbours programme and the Royal Borough.
Community groups taking part included Samaritans, Men’s Matters, Art Beyond Belief, The Vishaal Foundation with E. Sargeant and Son, Trinity Housing and SHOC featuring The Big Sleepout, Meet and Mingle, Slough Wetlands Trust, Youth Engagement Slough (YES), Slough Foodbank, Slough District Scouts, Girlguiding Slough and DASH.
SWAMI17 is a new initiative launched this Summer across Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead. It is a collaboration between Slough Faith Partnership, Windsor Humanists and Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum. The aim of SWAMI is to bring together our diverse communities and community groups across the three towns to strengthen friendships and promote co-operation and working together.
SWAMI is planning more events later this year; further information is available on the website swami17.com and on Facebook (SWAMI17)
