SWAMI aims to connect and strengthen the links between the communities of Windsor, Maidenhead and Slough (websire: https://www.swami17.com/).
Communities showcasing their groups on Saturday included the Samaritans, Men’s Matters, Heritage Healthcare, Windsor Girl Guides, Macmillan Cancer Support, Healthwatch, Windsor Community Police and DASH.
The event is one of three Community Showcases that SWAMI has organised this summer. The other two will take place in Slough and Maidenhead over the next two weekends.
This exciting new initiative is organised by the Slough Faith Partnership, Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF) and the Windsor Humanists.
Dr Anthony Lewis who Chairs the Windsor Humanists and is a resident of Dedworth said, ‘We were delighted at the success of our very first SWAMI event. There was enormous interest in the work the community groups carry out and great networking between the groups. We see this initiative going from strength to strength in the coming decade.’
