Brahma Kumaris day

The Brahma Kumaris of Slough led meditations and discussions through out the day, and introduced visitors to aspects of their faith.

Christian Prayer event

Members from different Christian traditions led prayers throughout the afternoon on Friday – taking part were members of the Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist and River Church congregations, who are pictured here leading the early afternoon worship session.

Via Dolorosa

Art Beyond Belief’s Via Dolorosa was shown throughout Tuesday at St Mary’s Parish Church. This is an interpretation of the Christian Stations of the Cross, interpreted by artists from eight different faiths.

Hindu presentations

The Hindu Community gave presentations at the Hindu Temple, including Aarti prayer and Priti Bhoj (community food), and at Kingsway throughout the day on Tuesday.

On Monday, Jo Osbourn presented a workshop on facets of the Jewish faith and life at Kingsway.

Buddhist green tea and meditation

Sunday saw a relaxing afternoon of green tea and meditation in the Buddhist tradition at Kingsway.

Sikhs in the Square

Immediately after the launch, the first event of interfaith week took place in the town square.The Sikh community didn’t let pouring rain stop them entertaining the Saturday shopping crowds. Free food, fruit and drinks were provided and there were displays by Sikh organisations and appearances from local faith and community leaders. Events were broadcast by the Sikh channel, Punjab Radio and Asian Star Radio.

Slough Interfaith Week launched

Interfaith week was launched in style at Kingsway on Saturday. Slough’s mayor, Cllr Joginder Singh Bal officially opened a week’s programme that will include discussions and social events,films and shows, cultural events, prayers and meditations organised by Slough-based faith groups and interfaith organisations.

Launch Event at Kingsway

Interfaith Week in Slough will be officially launched by the Mayor of Slough, Councilor Joginder Singh Bal at 1pm at Kingsway inĀ  Church Street, Slough. Everyone is welcome – please come along and get our exhibition and spectacular week of events off to a great start.
